TALAGOLD is a unique combination having a dual mode of action. TALAGOLD interferes with the postsynaptic nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR agonists) site of the insect nervous system. Irreversible blockage of postsynaptic nicotinic acetylcholine receptors leads to the hyperexcitation of the nerves. Simultaneously TALAGOLD affects the nervous system of an organism by disrupting the gating mechanism of sodium channels involved in the generation of nerve impulses. Delayed closing of the gate results in prolonged excitation of nerve fibers in insect pests Hyperexcitation is followed by convulsions and eventual paralysis of the insects. This results in the death of insects.
