Agrikind Penoxam is a post-emergence systemic herbicide that effectively controls grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds in Paddy.
Agrikind Penoxam acts as an ALS (Acetolactate Synthase) inhibitor, belonging to the triazolopyrimidine sulfonamide group, which blocks the synthesis of essential branched-chain amino acids (valine, leucine, and isoleucine) in weeds. It is absorbed through the leaves and roots and translocated systemically within the plant, leading to the inhibition of protein synthesis, cessation of cell division and growth, and ultimately the gradual death of the weeds.
