Glufosinate Ammonium 13.5% W/W SL works by inhibiting the enzyme glutamine synthetase in plants. This enzyme is crucial for converting glutamate and ammonia into glutamine, an essential amino acid. By blocking this enzyme, glufosinate ammonium disrupts ammonia detoxification and amino acid synthesis, causing toxic levels of ammonia to accumulate within plant cells. This accumulation interferes with cellular metabolism and damages cell membrane integrity, leading to leakage of cellular contents and ultimately resulting in plant death.

Glufoneed effectively manages annual and perennial grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds.
Glufoneed is taken up through the leaves and is partially moved to other parts of the plant.
Glufoneed is a rapid-acting herbicide, with results visible within 1 to 3 days.
